I will be writing a rough draft and I am asking you to help me fill in the details. All comments and suggestions will be considered for incorporation into this Constitution.

It is a fact of government that a government cannot survive unless it has the support of the citizens it governs. History is littered with failed governments that lost the support of its citizens. Therefore it follows that the first part of any constitution should be the one that sets forth the rights and responsibilities of its citizens. The foundation of every government is its relationship to its citizens.

Section I

The Rights and Responsibilities

Of the Citizens of the

Imperial Republic

One : The Right To Vote:

All citizens have the right to select who will represent them in the running of the government. With this right comes the responsibility to vote and not to abuse this right. This right is extended to all citizens over the age of 18, unless the have lost the right to vote. Reason for losing the right to vote is conviction of certain crimes.

There are other rights that will be included such as freedom of religion, freedom of speech, the right to bear arms, the right to privacy, the right to free assembly, the right to a speedy and fair trial, the right not to be discriminated against because of race, ethnicity, age, religion, or gender, property rights, and certain other rights in regard to legal proceedings.

After the listing of these rights the responsibilities of the citizens to support and serve the government.

Please give me your input on these rights and any rights that should be included.
